When they are let out in the morning they have a tendency to dance

Turkeys don’t just ‘gobble‘, they make lots of sounds ‘purrs‘, ‘yelps‘, ‘clucks‘ and ‘kee-kees

Talking turkey facts

🦃 Turkeys are native to the Americas and were domesticated by the Aztecs in Mexico. They were taken to Spain in 1500 and introduced from there to England in 1526

🦃 Male turkeys are called ‘stags’

🦃 Female turkeys are called ‘hens’

🦃 An infant turkey is called a ‘chick’ or a ‘poult’

🦃 Turkeys lay large eggs which are roughly twice the size of chicken eggs

🦃 The flabby and elongated bits of skin that dangle from the turkey’s neck is called a wattle and the snood hangs down over the turkeys’ beak
