Admission ticket must be purchased to take part in ‘Spot the Scarecrow’ and ‘draw and name your scarecrow’.

Tickets purchased at the entrance on the day – no booking required.

Entries must be placed in the box for a chance to win.

Dress for the weather and enjoy the fresh air – most of the scarecrows are outside!

Winners will be announced in our newsletter and on social media.

All prizes to be redeemed by 24th December 2025. Gift voucher can be redeemed for admission, tearoom or gift shop.

Under normal circumstances Washbrooks is open 357 days a year but if forced to close due to circumstances beyond its control, vouchers redemption date will not be extended.

Washbrooks Family Farm decision is final.

Fun Farming Fact

The first known scarecrows were made about 3000 years ago.

These scarecrows were found in ancient Egypt standing by the River Nile to keep the birds away from the crops.

The world’s tallest scarecrow was called ‘Stretch II’ was constructed by the Speers family of Paris, Ontario, Canada and a crew of 15 at the Paris Fall Fair on 2nd September 1989 and measured 31.56m in height.
