Covid-19 Faq's

Sadly from Thursday 5th November Washbrooks will be closed and we hope to re-open beginning of December 2020.

These Covid-19 facts are updated in line with Government guidance.

The safety, well-being and health of our visitors is, as always, our top priority.

Please follow all government guidelines. Maintain distance, observe good hygiene, frequent hand-washing and be aware of others during your visit.

It is important we work collectively to ensure the safety of all those that visit or work at Washbrooks. You will need to shadow children to ensure they are safely following all guidelines. Our staff are not responsible for ensuring your children are following procedures.

When meeting friends or family you do not live with (or have formed a support bubble with) you must not meet in a group of more than 6.

The owners will be available to chat to you about any concerns and please remember this is a constantly evolving situation based on the latest advice.

Please be patient and kind to our staff as they are adapting to all of this as you are.

Please do not visit if you or your children are feeling unwell, you have Covid-19 symptoms or have possibly been exposed to someone who has been diagnosed with Covid-19 (or with symptoms).

As you can imagine this has been a turbulent period for Washbrooks Farm. We have made a huge effort to comply with all guidelines. If you have any concerns please find the owners immediately.

Please be sure you have downloaded the NHS Covid-19 Test and Trace app prior to your visit. We have a facility to collect test and trace for those who are unable too access the app.

We are open every day from 9:30am to 5pm. Tearoom shuts at 4pm.

The animal barn, outdoor play area and the Barnyard Peddle Area will be open.

The tearoom will be open. Table service is in operation for those that wish to use the tearoom. However, please be aware that the service may be slower than before.

A full menu takeaway service is available.

The gift shop will be open, and we would ask you remain vigilant of those nearby and follow the social distancing measures.

The indoor play area remains closed due to current government advice.

The tractor and trailer ride will not be available under current guidelines.

This will be subject to change. Updates will be provided regularly.

Outdoor picnic areas are provided.

The Stable Room will remain closed.

The Marquee will be available and we would ask you to remain vigilant of those nearby and follow social distancing guidelines.

The Chalet will be open. The tables have been placed in a socially distanced manner. We will have to close the facility if distancing is not observed.

Admission prices will remain the same.

We would recommend you have a good look at available activities and decide on value to you and your family before you make a decision to visit us.

No. Tickets are purchased at entrance.

We are encouraging card payments via contactless where possible and we will accept cash.

Things will be a bit different.

We advise you to plan ahead and prepare your children prior to visiting.

No. We ask that you park sensibly and respect the space of other visitors.

There is a very small chance that if we are inundated with visitors that we may have to turn you away. We don’t anticipate this being an issue. We will be monitoring outgoing visitors as well as those incoming.

We are not taking any party bookings at present due to Government guidelines.

  • We encourage card payments.
  • We’ve always had regular cleaning schedules in place and enhancements have been made.
  • One-way systems have been added in certain areas.
  • We have increased onsite signage.
  • We have installed hand sanitiser points around the site and the hand washing facilities remain.

Tearoom

  • Face coverings will be mandatory until seated.
  • We have made changes to the tearoom layout and operation.
  • Table service is in operation.
  • Visitors will have to wait to be seated.
  • Tables will be cleaned before each customer use.
  • A laminated menu which has been cleaned before each customer use will be provided.
  • Cutlery and condiments will be handed with your order and will not be available for self-service.
  • Water will be provided on request.
  • Should you wish to add to your order please ask your server.
  • Payment will be made from your table.
  • Our customer facing staff are required to wear a face covering.

Takeaway service

  • Face coverings will be mandatory while placing your order in the tearoom.
  • A takeaway food and drink service are available from the tearoom.
  • A laminated menu which has been cleaned before each customer use will be provided.
  • Payment will be made at till point which has a Perspex screen.
  • Once your order has been placed you will be asked to wait outside the tearoom.
  • When ready, our staff will bring your order to you.
  • More takeaway packaging will be used to limit surface contact.
  • Customers are encouraged to dispose of packaging to reduce risk to staff.
  • Our customer facing staff are required to wear a face covering.

Kiosk

  • A takeaway drinks and confectionary service is available through a hatch.
  • Payment preferably by card.

From 24th September 2020 laws were introduced for face coverings being mandatory in hospitality settings. Therefore please wear a face covering when entering the tearoom, this may be removed only when seated at a table. Please wear a face covering to order takeaway food. They are to be used in our shop area. Our customer facing staff are required to wear a face covering.

However a face covering is not required while you are outside on the farm.

When we closed for the initial lockdown from late March to July 2020 annual memberships cards were extended by the relevant number of days that were missed out on.

We hope to be in a position to honour an extension to annual memberships again. However, we will review when reopening timescales are confirmed by the Government which we hope will be in early December 2020. If the nationwide lockdown is extended further this may need to be revised.

By taking out membership terms and conditions of use include "9. Under normal circumstances Washbrooks is open 357 days a year, but if forced to closed due to circumstances beyond its control, memberships cannot be extended or refunded."

When we are in a position to confirm about annual memberships we will advise and we thank you for your patience and understanding with this in these uncertain times.
